The Union for the Mediterranean takes a process with renewed enthusiasm that comes from afar, which began with the famous Barcelona Process: the search for cooperation between the two shores of Mare Nostrum.
The conception of such cooperation should be:
1. bidirectional, mutual contribution. Do not fall into the temptation of thinking that only we can bring something to the south shore, because they also have much to learn.
2. balanced. We can not be paternalism or interference, but we can not be complacent in the main, but demanding.
3. prioritized in terms of aid, programs and objectives. It is absurd to require too much to countries that are in development and democratization processes.
The full Council of Europe, as the assembly that gives priority to the struggle for democracy, human rights and the rule of law, we want these shared values \u200b\u200bthat allow us to live in freedom and live to the dispute reach all parts of the world.
